The OE stator plates on the oldest vintage Vespa models are already over seventy years old! Their magnetism fades, the isolation materials becomes brittle and connections loosen or fail completely, not to mention the ugly traces of well-intended amateur repairs. As an ideal solution for the dedicated owners of these vintage models, following several years of intense development, we now have these stator plates reproduced in the finest quality available. Our experiences gained working with our suppliers in this field flowed into the development and production of these replica stator plates. This lead to the more modern coils, found in the later wideframe models, being used for a more reliable ignition pulse ?C without the need for an additional external coil destroying the OE look. Additionally the later-produced points system, from the largeframe models, is also included as the OE items are rarer than stardust and these types are also easier to maintain. Do not forget – our-TIP: Specialist firms still exist that can re-magnetise and/or increase the magnetisation for original flywheels. For reassembly we recommend our vintage degree-disc 83001000.A new spark plug, HT lead and spark plug cap will also be necessary, as long as these OE type parts are available of course! A fresh points contact 14184200 system as a spare in your glovebox is always a good idea. All rally-going scooterists should include these as spares anyway, along with a couple of unused spark plugs! Mounting information: The contact surfaces of the points unit can corrode. They first require a little preparation before use using the cardboard tab included.
