The Vespa Wideframe models were produced in many varieties by numerous other licensed manufacturers apart from Vespa – such as Douglas, ACMA, Motovespa, etc… The final position of the fanwheel is the result of the sum of the manufacturing tolerances of numerous peripheral components ?C such as the flywheel, crankshaft, crankshaft oil-seals, bearings, bearing seats, engine casings and not forgetting the forced-air cooling channel and the flywheel cover! To satisfy all possible combinations, versions and also the relaxed manufacturing tolerances now deliver a crankcase spacer ring with every Performance Ignition system meant for the vintage Wideframe models. This allows the cooling channel to be shifted by the millimetre away from the flywheel assembly to prevent them coming into contact during use.
Our
Performance spacer
is positioned unobtrusively between the air-channel and the engine casings. The mounting of the spacer is not necessary, but optional. The spacers can also be combined when more space is necessary.
