as an extremely attractive accessory Product description
The reports that reach our ears of customers sidepanels being removed without their consent from their vintage Vespas are unfortunately increasing. It seems the higher the demand for these items is, the lower the ethics of certain mislead souls can sink. Due to the fact that most of the
SIP team also own and ride vintage models without lockable sidepanels, a rapid solution to this disgusting problem was also in our own interest!
The inspiration for our
Sidepanel Locking Kit was provided by an attachable lock system that used to be in production to give complementary security to the first Vespa PX models. Our newer type has been slightly adapted in order to be compatible with all Vespa models possessing externally fastened sidepanels.
Put a stop to thieves
Available in three different versions
Fits many classic scooters
Easy to mount
Helpful Hint
: Due to the fact that there is very little room to manoeuvre on some models we thought out a solution that allows the rubber that holds the lock to the lever mechanism to be reversed in order to fit properly. The thicker side covers all models that came before the PX range of Vespa models. If they are to be fitted to an early PX Vespa the surface of the rubber with the SIP logo must be turned to the inner side of the lock.
Conclusion: A simple but very effective solution to a very real problem. The mechanism is simply attached to the fastening lever of the sidepanel, locked and your scooters sidepanels are secured against sticky-fingered parasites.
