TUNING RACE – for professionals Product description
Times are changing, and along with it, motor potential and customer expectations!
SIP, together with the well know clutch manufacturer
NEWFREN, has put together a limited edition of unique clutch linings.
The new
RACE EVO clutch plates are made of racetrack tested cellulose/carbon compound. Here, the carbon percentage is much higher in comparison to the normal Standard RACE version,
improving holding time and
increasing durability
. A further advantage is
increased control
. In contrast to cork, the cellulose/carbon compound compresses less, allowing
improved feedback and control.
If the clutch slips, reinforced springs are an ideal combination.
Conclusion: the optimal complement for both sport or leisure drivers.
RACE EVO clutch plates are an improvement in all areas. A further benefit of the cellulose/carbon compound is a remarkable control increase.
RACE EVO clutch plates/ cellulose/ carbon compound
Steel plates, cellulose/ carbon compound, 4 clutch plates, 3 friction plates, incl. clutch springs
soak over night in transmission oil before installation and always use a new lock washer, wedge and nut. Check pressure plate and separator for abrasion and replace if necessary/ Reinforced clutch basket and lock washers are a good addition for high rpm’s.
When changing the clutch plates, also replace the
clutch washer disc.
Marco Molino, NEWFREN Laboratory, 05.08.2009:
“Both the yellow (SRG) and green (SR) [SIP RAVE EVO] paper friction material contain no cork at all and they are mainly made of cellulose, resins and some other materials which give a better friction level compared to the cork clutch disc; in addition these materials are less compressible, they do not cause any bubbles, so these clutch discs can be also used on high powered engines. The green (SR) clutch discs have better performances in the static period and a good friction level in the kinetic phase. During a climb they offer a better performance compared to the yellow (SRG) clutches. Also the fade is better with the green (SR) clutch discs because of the carbon particles that are part of this compound.”
