Grade AA – first-class repair and for tuned engines Product description
Output shaft thrust washers available in various sizes. These items are produced using steel with more precise manufacturing tolerances than the standard fare.

The output shaft spacers help keep the play between the gear cogs, otherwise known as the end float, to a minimum to help the gears engage cleanly. The
spacers
on pre PX Lusso/EFL motors only have 1 stabilising tab and the later spacers (post Lusso) have 4. The later Lusso/EFL version can be retro fitted to the earlier PX motors. The PX Lusso/EFL output shaft requires the use of at least 2 spacers and also circlips. The more stable PX Lusso/EFL gearbox parts are usually used in tuned PX motors. Due to the higher power levels produced by the more performance orientated motors the correct clearances between the gear cogs becomes essential.
Regrettably the original
PIAGGIO
parts are not very accurately produced/graded, even the so-called standard sizes can vary in thickness. Components that arrive from PIAGGIO with identical part numbers can turn out to actually have three or four different sizes, from the same batch! When intended for use with non-tuned scooters these minor discrepancies are tolerable.
Alongside the standard sizes we at
SIP
have also had finer grades produced as part of this range, enabling fine end-float adjustment down to a hundredth of a mm. Our thrust washers are made of spring-grade CK75 steel alloy, tempered and black-zinc plated. They are parallel honed to 2/100mm making them very accurate. The part number and thickness grade are laser etched on each separate part enabling quick and easy identification. The investment will soon reward with a much more durable transmission!

Helpful Hint:
The end float distance of your output shaft assembly should be between 0.15 and 0.4mm when it is newly put together. If you are checking it during a major service it should till be under 0.5mm otherwise you will require new (thicker) spacers…

The feeler gauge to measure the end float of your output shaft makes this job a lot easier. It is available at our shop, part. no. 60824000. Do not forget to order a new cruciform, selector rod and fresh gear box oil to complete the job properly.
