Oil Seal driveshaft

SPREAD THE LOVE

Description

for Vespa 150 GS Product description
If the
drive shaft oil seal
is damaged or worn gear box oil can escape from the motor end even reach the back brake assembly or the rear wheel tyre unit itself. Oily brakes and tyres are extremely dangerous and can lead to accidents and serious injury. Engine oil seals should be checked regularly and, if necessary, replaced.

The dimensions of the existing oil seal that needs replacing are important while ordering the new item. Sometimes in the life of a Vespa the brake drum or the engine get replaced which can lead to differences in the size of the replacement oil seal required. We recommend therefore to measure the old seals to ensure that you order the correct replacement item, especially for the PX models. The oil seals are usually available from
PIAGGIO
themselves or a couple of other Italian motor parts suppliers and are produced mostly by either
CORTECO
or
ROLF
. The blue CORTECO version has its fans, as does its black counterpart produced by ROLF. To keep all factions happy we stock both versions.

Do not forget to order a new output shaft/ rear wheel nut and the suitable safety washer and split pin. The use of a bearing extractor (part no. 21467000) makes this job child’s play. Do not forget to order gear box oil and engine shaft oil seals. While you are at it, why not also change the brake shoes
